Update on the PA Allegheny County Commissions Meeting Regarding Drilling On Airport Property

Feb 7 @ Robert  Morris in Moon Township, PA.

Here are some emails received on the subject:

From the  Post-Gazette from Friday (http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/local/marcellusshale/allegheny-county-airport-drilling-deal-could-net-40m-670884/) and in it it states:

The executive [Rich Fitzgerald] plans to officially ask county council's permission to allow drilling on airport land on Tuesday, a necessary step before the rigs can move in. If all goes smoothly, drilling could begin within the next 18 months.

I then checked on the Allegheny County Council website and see that indeed, they do have a reguarly scheduled meeting tomorrow (Tuesday Jan 22nd) at 5:00 pm, and indeed, this is on the official agenda (see info pasted from their agenda for tomorrow, below).

Do folks think it would be useful for us to plan to attend and speak at this meeting tomorrow??
If so, we would need to sign up to comment by 5:00 pm today, per their stated rule of needing to give 24 hours notice.

I'm guessing it might be good to have them hear from us when they officially raise the proposal (i.e., tomorrow), not just at the special public hearing on Feb 7th.  I'm interested to hear if others agree and if so, who can attend / speak tomorrow.

Finally, previously it was mentioned that folks were organizing a showing at County Council on Feb 5th, to talk about this.  Is that still on as well, or are we deferring to the Feb 7th hearing only now (and/or to tomorrow night's, where this will be officially raised)?
